'Dark Knight Rises' From Darkness In New TV Spot

The Dark Knight Rises

Sometimes a man rises in the darkness. And that dark knight will rise in only five short days from now.

Warner Bros has dropped a new TV spot for "The Dark Knight Rises" that teases some new footage from the movie (though we didn't think there possibly could be any more). If you want even more looks at Joseph Gordon-Levitt's John Blake, Anne Hathaway's Selina Kyle or just more of Christian Bale's Batman being a badass, you probably should check out the 23-second teaser after the jump.

Arguably our favorite part of this trailer is the humor, particularly the scene where some poor cop accidentally shoots at Batman. The Dark Knight turns and gives the police officer a death glare, and the guy can only squeak out, "Sorry." Good to know that Bruce Wayne hasn't entirely lost his edge during his eight years away from the cape and cowl.

"You're dealing with a story that very specifically picks up eight years after the events of the last film and time has moved along but our protagonists haven't," Christoper Nolan said in our recent interview with him. "Bruce Wayne has shut himself away in self-imposed exile. He's hung up the cape and cowl but he hasn't moved on."

"The Dark Knight Rises" hits theaters this Friday.
