'Walking Dead' Season Three: The Prison Revealed!

There won't be a haunted house on "American Horror Story" this season, but there will be one on "The Walking Dead."

Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors make their way to the prison this season, a seemingly safe and secure shelter from the undead hordes populating the world at large. But the group's new home isn't quite the safe haven they initially thought it to be, as made clear by the first official photos of Rick et al at the prison, as premiered over on EW.com.

"I'm incredibly proud of the prison," showrunner Glen Mazzara told EW of the show's new setting. "I think our crew has done a great job. It's a huge sense of scale and magnitude I haven't seen on any other show as far as construction. What's important to us is the prison itself is now a character in the show. It's a haunted house, it's scary, it's frightening, and there are parts of the prison that are always terrifying, that are always inaccessible to our group. It's not necessarily the blessing that the prison in the comic book turned out to be."

Elsewhere, speaking to TV Guide, Mazzara warned that viewers won't see the last of the prison for quite some time.

"I'm not interested in wrapping up The Governor, Michonne or the prison story line anytime soon. We are getting to the heart of the matter, I think the core of Robert's comic book. We really have a lot of great material to explore. I hope to explore all of that for a long time."
