We're in crunch time for "The Amazing Spider-Man." The new origin story for our favorite web-slinging superhero is due out in theaters in less than a month, and Sony is bent on convincing us that the movie is going to be everything we want it to be.
Well, they're doing a great job. Three new TV spots and a featurette focusing on Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy's relationship have hit the web, and they all look fantastic. The focus of these videos seems to be on the action-packed conflicts Spider-Man has with The Lizard and Captain George Stacy, as well as his relationship with Gwen. Those are the major selling points for "The Amazing Spider-Man," and we're glad that Sony has honed in on them in their marketing campaign.
The featurette in particular gives us a look into Gwen and Peter's relationship that we haven't seen in the trailers. It delves into the early flirtations between the two characters, particularly their disagreement over who is at the top of their class. It only helps that Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield are dating in real life, because it's clear that their affinity for one another is present both on and offscreen.
“The Amazing Spider-Man” focuses on Peter Parker’s journey to discover the secret of his parents’ disappearance. That brings him face-to-face with Dr. Curt Connors, played by Rhys Ifans, who ends up becoming the film’s villain, The Lizard. It’s due in theaters on July 3.
