'Ninja Turtles' Reboot Starts Shooting This Summer?

We're pretty buzzed about the upcoming "Ninja Turtles" remake over here at MTV Splash Page. We have our own list of dream cast members and even put some of our casting suggestions to the stars themselves, but now it seems we can stop guessing.

The Province is reporting that Paramount Pictures is looking to start filming "Ninja Turtles" in the late summer or early fall, with the plan still to release the project on December 25, 2013. If the report is accurate, then we should start hearing some serious casting news over the next month or so.

And we've talked to one person who might be interested in participating. When we caught up with Vanilla Ice at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, we asked if he had any plans to reprise his beloved "Ninja Rap" for this new movie.

"I can't say anything. I know that [the Ninja Turtles are] not from the sewer now. From aliens or something. The cool thing is that they're still Ninja Turtles," he said, showing off a "Ninja Turtles" tattoo of his calf. When asked if he'd do work for the soundtrack he said, "Absolutely, and I'd get a tattoo of it. Aliens, sewers, they're still ninja turtles and I'm a ninja so I get in where I fit in."

He would potentially be joining another rapper in the flick. There's a rumor floating around that Kid Cudi could be involved in "Ninja Turtles" as well. What about the two of them doing a remix on the original rap? Now that's something we'd love to hear.
