As we learned this week, a release shift for a potential blockbuster tends to be bad news, signaling a delay. (We’re looking at you “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.”) But before you get worried about Disney moving the release date for “Thor 2,” take a closer look at the details.
The sequel to Marvel’s Norse superhero saga will now open on November 8, 2013, a full week before its originally planned release date. The change came as part of a shake-up by Disney, which also pushed Jerry Bruckheimer’s “The Lone Ranger” back to July 3, 2013.
The move for “Thor 2″ also means that it will now have two weeks to rule the box office before “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” destroys everything in its path.
Are you glad that you’ll see “Thor 2″ a full week earlier? Let us know in the comments below and on Twitter!
