A full-length trailer for the upcoming Disney XD show "Ultimate Spider-Man" has debuted, and it shows a Spider-Man a bit different than the one we know and love. Instead of retelling the Spider-Man origin story for a new generation, the cartoon focuses on the way Spidey's life changes after he teams up with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D.
We already got a taste of how that interaction pans out in a recently-released clip from the show, but this new trailer gives fans a better look at what they can expect from the Marvel Universe cartoon. It's an interesting -- though not direct -- tie-in to "The Avengers," since this is pretty much the kid-ified version of what Spider-Man's inclusion to that movie would have looked like.
Without a doubt, the coolest part of the trailer comes when Spider-Man gets his Iron Man-inspired (and likely designed) suit. They later are shown facing off against one another in an aerial battle, with Spidey calling out, "This isn't really how I pictured our first team up."
There also are plenty of examples of the perks that come along with being a member of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury gives Spider-Man a motorcycle that can shoot rockets and web, has a jet pack and more. It also looks like our friendly neighborhood superhero gets web shooter upgrades as well.
Though the show may look a little corny, it comes from the comics creative dream team of Paul Dini, Brian Michael Bendis, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle, so expect there to be plenty in the series for adult fans to like too. "Ultimate Spider-Man" is scheduled to premiere on April 1.
