‘X-Men: First Class’ Among MTV’s Top 10 Movies Of 2011

The MTV Movies team has been counting down our ten favorite movies of 2011 all week long, and given the amount of comic book movies that were released this year, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that one of those flicks landed on our list.

“X-Men: First Class” is the lucky pick, clocking in at #6 on our list of the year’s greatest movies. No disrespect towards the undeniably awesome “Thor” and “Captain America,” but “First Class” was the Marvel movie to beat thanks to phenomenal performances from Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy, a memorable villain in the form of Kevin Bacon’s Sebastian Shaw, an excellent plot, awesome action, and an inventive way of staying true to the previous “X-Men” movies while still creating something that stands totally on its own.
