We've seen what the new Rider looks like. We've seen him piss fire, and we have a general idea of what Neveldine and Taylor are going for here.
What we didn't have a great idea about until now is the story for "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance," the follow-up to Nic Cage's first foray into the superhero world. In the sequel, Johnny Blaze must come out of self-imposed hiding in order to save a child and his mother who have found themselves pursued by the devil. Ciarán Hinds plays the devil, and he's looking for a new form to take so he can take over the world.
Who else are you going to call in that kind of situation?
Leave it to Nic Cage to explain the story in the best way possible. After the boy's mother explains why he means so much to her, Cage replies, saying, "That being the case, we better make sure he doesn't turn out to be the anti-Christ."
And though the trailer is light on flaming pee, it does pack in more of the same action and general insanity that made the first trailer such a hit. Pay particular attention to the shot of Cage mid-transformation on his motorcycle. It's classic Cage in the best way possible.
Also, just as a good rule of thumb, anytime Cage plays a demon who in turn takes over a large piece of construction equipment and turns that into a demon vehicle, it's a good sign for the movie to come.
