"The Dark Knight Rises" prologue that's been much buzzed about over the past few weeks remains unconfirmed, though it's existence is looking likelier and likelier every single day.
Case in point: the folks over at CHUD have reportedly unearthed the most recent MPAA ratings bulletin, which includes a PG-13 rating for a little title going by the name of "The Dark Knight Rises: Prologue."
Still no official word, but let's roll with this. If there's a PG-13 "Dark Knight Rises" prologue attached to IMAX showings of "Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol" as has been rumored, what can we predict about the upcoming preview of Batman's third and final appearance under the directorial eye of Christopher Nolan? Well, that PG-13 was supposedly granted to the "short subject" due to "some violence," so we're virtually guaranteed a good dose of action.
Those of you thinking that this prologue might follow a similar model as the "Dark Knight" prologue—the one that showed the film's first scene, Joker's pulse-pounding bank heist—are probably right on the money. My bet is that we'll get our first taste of Bane in the midst of an explosive breakout sequence, but I'd be more than fine if the scene just focused on Batman taking a couple of Gotham hoodlums on all by himself.
If the prologue doesn't come to pass, we'll still get "The Dark Knight Rises" in all of its glory on July 20, 2012.
