There's been so much back and forth regarding whether a sequel to 2010's superhero action-comedy "Kick-Ass" would happen that it's hard to remember where it stands. The creator of the comics, Mark Millar, has stood by his conviction that a sequel to the film would happen and is currently working on a second book, but after stars Aaron Johnson and Lyndsy Fonseca claimed that a sequel probably wouldn't come to fruition, things seemed as grim as they could be. That is until screenwriter Jane Goldman told Absolute Radio that a sequel "wasn't in the works."
But all is not lost, "Kick-Ass" fans. Hit Girl herself, Chloe Moretz, recently told MTV News at the Scream Awards that some "Kick-Ass 2" news was imminent and seemed genuinely excited to share some hints.
Without confirming or denying, Moretz told MTV News' Kara Warner with a smile, "Maybe. I can't say anything."
Moretz offered up one bit of a clue, saying, "A little bit of news is coming, just something we've got up our sleeves."
Based on what Moretz had to offer, you have to think that there are definitely more concrete plans for a sequel. Perhaps "Kick-Ass 2" isn't lost after all. But bringing back the creative team of director Matthew Vaughan and screenwriter Jane Goldman may prove difficult since the first film more or less marked both the launch of their careers and much busier schedules.
