Comic-Con: ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ And Other Can’t Miss Panels

It’s that time of year again! Comic-Con International kicks off with Preview Night in just a couple of hours, then begins in earnest on Thursday (July 21). We’ll be bringing you an awesome selection of live-stream interviews, but if you’re at the show and wondering which panels to attend, we’ve got you covered with our full list of recommended comic book movie, TV and video game panels at SDCC 2011.

Check out Movies Blog and Hollywood Crush for their lists as well!

“Batman: Arkham City”
What: The gang behind the sequel to “Arkham Asylum” are headed to Comic-Con to show off their latest and, hopefully, greatest. Voice actors Kevin Conroy (Batman) and Mark Hamill (Joker) will be on hand, so those old voice acting foes are sure to make for an electric event.
When: Thursday (7/21) from 5 – 6pm
Where: Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront

“Stitched” Movie World Premiere
What: “Preacher” and “The Boys” co-creator Garth Ennis steps away from the paneled page to land firmly behind the camera for “Stitched,” his directorial debut. Ennis fans know the filth he’s capable of on the comics front — lord knows what kind of grotesque greatness he’ll deliver on the screen. If you’re of age, go check out the movie’s world premiere!
When: Thursday (7/21) from 8:15 – 9:15pm
Where: Room 6DE

“Locke & Key” FOX Pilot Screening & Panel
What: One of the biggest bummers of the past year was learning that Fox wouldn’t be moving forward with their “Locke & Key” adaptation. Luckily, SDCC attendees have two chances to catch the pilot for themselves. They’ll have two screenings on Friday, and the first premiere is followed by a panel with the creative team behind the comics and show; you won’t want to miss it!
When: Friday (7/22) from 10:30 – 12:30pm, and again from 9:15 – 10:15pm
Where: Room 8 for the first screening, Room 6DE for the encore

AMC’s “The Walking Dead”
What: Forgive the pun, but this one’s a no-brainer, isn’t it? Here’s your chance to get an early look at the second season of “Walking Dead,” complete with panel appearances from Frank Darabont, Robert Kirkman, Andrew Lincoln and more. If you’re a fan of the survival horror series, you absolutely can’t pass this one over… just make sure to get on line super early, because this panel is bound to fill out fast.
When: Friday (7/22) from 11:15 – 12:15pm
Where: Ballroom 20

What: If the “Amazing Spider-Man” trailer left you wanting more, you’re in luck: Sony is bringing your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man (and stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone) to Comic-Con! They’ll also be showing off “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” alongside Nicolas Cage and Idris Elba, so make sure to stick around for that. Again, we’re talking about Hall H, the busiest spot in all of Comic-Con: get. There. Early!
When: Friday (7/22) from 4:00 – 6:30pm
Where: Hall H

World Premiere: “Batman Year One”
What: We brought you your first look at the official trailer, and now it’s time to see the whole thing. Comic-Con hosts the world premiere of “Batman: Year One,” followed by a panel presentation with Bryan Cranston, Ben McKenzie, Eliza Dushku and the rest of the film’s cast. After the panel, there will be an encore presentation of the movie.
When: Friday (7/22) from 8:00 – 10:00pm, and again from 10:15 – 12:00am
Where: Ballroom 20

Marvel Interactive: Marvel Video Games
What: Marvel has an adamantium-laced fist full of awesome video games coming down the pipeline, including “Spider-Man: Edge of Time,” “X-Men Destiny,” “Captain America: Super Soldier” and the long awaited “Marvel vs. Capcom 3,” among others. Get your first look at these games at Marvel’s panel on Saturday.
When: Saturday (7/23) from 12:30 – 1:30pm
Where: Room 6A

“Young Justice” Screening and Q&A
What: Want to catch a first look at some new “Young Justice” action? If you’re still at Comic-Con on Sunday morning, you’re in luck: DC Entertainment is hosting a special screening of “Young Justice” accompanied by a panel presentation with the show’s creative team.
When: Sunday (7/24) at 10:00 – 11:00pm
