Which Character Could Return For ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Cameo? [SPOILER ALERT]

News related to the cast of “The Dark Knight Rises” has been trickling in quite a bit lately, but it hasn’t offered too many hints about the plot of the film… until now.

Although this is only through hearsay at this point, the latest name attached to the film could be a big deal — and a BIG SPOILER. Consider this your warning!

According to Hit Fix, actor Liam Neeson was spotted on Monday filming a scene for “The Dark Knight Rises.” Neeson played villain Ra’s al Ghul in 2005’s “Batman Begins,” the first film in Christopher Nolan’s celebrated Batman franchise.

Warner Bros. declined to comment on the report, saying it wasn’t their policy to discuss Christopher Nolan’s “Batman” films.

The report is quick to point out that the potential inclusion of Ra’s al Ghul could imply a flashback sequence, but given the casting of Josh Pence as a young version of the character and al Ghul’s affinity for resurrections in the comics, there’s certainly reason to believe Neeson’s version of the character could make an appearance.

At this point, if Neeson is indeed in the film, it’s unclear how much he’ll be part of it. The veteran actor was back in New York City on Tuesday for the “Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark” premiere, so that means he’s probably done filming.

“The Dark Knight Rises” is scheduled to hit theaters in the summer of 2012.
