It’s time to hire all the right actors for the television adaptation of “Powers” — which is no small task, given the series' loyal readership. First to be cast is the role of Captain Cross.
The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Charles S. Dutton will play Captain Cross, the boss of detective leads Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim. Dutton starred in the 1991-1994 television series “Roc,” but has also been on Broadway and in such films as “Cry, the Beloved Country” and “A Time to Kill.”
“Powers,” which will air on FX, is based on the series from Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming.
Debuting in 2000, the "Powers" comic book series follows the detectives responsible for cases dealing with superpowers. Charles H. Eglee is working on script adaptation and Michael Dinner has been confirmed as the director of the show’s pilot episode.
Back in March, "Battlestar Galactica" actress Katee Sackhoff expressed interest in playing Deena Pilgrim, a casting decision that has many fans' full support.
