Conan O’Brien Isn't Sure About 'Thor' Casting

Fan enthusiasm is high and critical reception kind (so far) for Marvel’s 2011 kick-off movie “Thor.” But nearly a week ago, Conan O’Brien debuted a different cut of the Kenneth Branagh-directed film’s trailer, expressing some concern over the voice of the actor playing the mythically powerful Norse God.

Conan, clearly a fan of comics, spoke thusly: “The movie has tons of action, special effects… I’m worried about something. I’m worried that they cast the wrong guy to play Thor.”

We’ll admit, the footage does raise some questions.

Okay, so Chris Hemsworth clearly speaks with much deeper, more robust voice in the actual trailer for the movie. This must have been from a demo trailer or something. One thing is for sure, and that is that under no circumstances did Conan’s writing and editing team overdub a pre-existing “Thor” trailer with a silly, effeminate reading of Chris Hemsworth’s lines because it’s really, really funny.

"Thor" hits theaters on May 6, 2011.
