A new "X-Men: First Class" poster has arrived online featuring many of the mutants showcased in Matthew Vaughn's upcoming "X-Men" origin story.
Posted over at Empire, the new poster sports the tagline "Witness The Moment That Will Change Our World," with 10 of the film's mutants — good and bad — in various poses. From left to right, we get another look at Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender), Emma Frost (January Jones), Moira MacTaggert (Rose Byrne), Havok (Lucas Till), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Azazel (Jason Flemyng), Angel Salvadore (Zoe Kravitz), and Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon).
Unfortunately, the absence of Banshee, Darwin, and some of the other mutants we know have a role in the film isn't the only thing people are complaining about regarding the new poster.
Like many of the posters and promotional images used for the film thus far, fans (and media outlets) have criticized the heavy-handed use of Photoshop in many of the images. While the film's first trailer was positively received, much of the imagery used before and since the trailer's debut has left potential audiences — and even the cast itself — scratching their collective heads.
"Just take a look at this latest one-sheet from the prequel/reboot," writes Empire. "No, we don't remember the cast being composed entirely of hobbits either. Nor their heads being far too big for their bodies."
