Mark Ruffalo Hints At Hairy-Chested Hulk In ‘Avengers’

The Incredible Hulk is an iconic character, but he could look a little different when Joss Whedon brings “The Avengers” to the big screen. According to Mark Ruffalo, who will be playing the Hulk in Marvel’s superhero team-up film, the green goliath will actually look quite a bit like, well… him.

“No one has asked me to shave my chest yet, thank God,” Ruffalo told The Advocate. “They want this Hulk to be as close to me as possible.”

Back in February, Ruffalo revealed to MTV News that the balance between his screen time as Bruce Banner and his CGI-enhanced alter ego will be “about equal.”

“I’ll be playing him in motion-capture, so this Hulk will just be a bigger avatar version of me,” Ruffalo went on. “As they’re modeling him, they’re using many of my own features, down to my scars and wrinkles. He will have body hair, but I don’t know to what extent.”

Since “The Avengers” is supposed to start filming in May, they might have to make a decision on that soon.

“The Avengers” is scheduled to hit theaters in May of 2012.
