Relativity is teaming up with Apaches Entertainment for the film. Casting has not yet been announced, but they hope to start filming this autumn.
In an official press release, producer Edward R. Pressman stated: “The original Crow was groundbreaking cinema; its gothic visual and musical ideas influenced a generation and cinema itself. With Juan Carlos, we have every confidence that his new Crow will have a similar impact on the contemporary audience.”
Relativity Media’s President of Worldwide Production Tucker Tooley also had glowing things to say: “Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is an incredibly talented and imaginative filmmaker. We are thrilled to have him at the helm and are excited to work with both Pressman and Apaches on what we all believe will be a compelling and innovative reimagining of The Crow.”
This isn’t the first time “The Crow” has made it to theatres. The original 1994 movie is infamous both for its style and the tragic death of the main actor, Brandon Lee, on set. Let’s hope this time around we get all the style and none of the tragedy.
