Amy Adams Cast As Lois Lane In ‘Superman: Man Of Steel’

After months of speculation, the 2012 Superman reboot “Man of Steel” has found its star reporter in actress Amy Adams.

Los Angeles Times’ blog Hero Complex released the news that Adams beat out a host of other actresses for the coveted role.

“There was a big, giant search for Lois,” said director Zack Snyder. “For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.”

Adams most recent film “The Fighter” earned her an Oscar nomination, and saw her co-starring with Batman himself — Christian Bale — in what is a unique coincidence. And in another unique situation, Adams guest starred on an episode of “Smallville,” the television series offering an teen-centric exploration of Superman’s origin, as a character named Jodi Melville.

For “Man of Steel”, Adams joins an all-star cast that includes Henry Cavill as Superman and Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Superman’s adoptive parents.
