'Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance' Actor Reveals More Details About Blackout Role

Johnny WhitworthGhost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” won’t be released until next year, but actor Johnny Whitworth is already talking about it and his role as the villain Blackout.

In an interview with ShockTillYouDrop, Whitworth answered questions about the film and his favorite elements of the pseudo-sequel. His favorite part of shooting? Well, besides working with Nicolas Cage, it’s the whole comic-book thing.

“I got to be a comic book character,” Whitworth gloated.

And then there’s the character he gets to play. Talking about Blackout, the actor said, “[He's] bad and I get to be even extra bad. So I'm human and then I turn into Blackout and then he's bad and then he's just horrible.”

Whitworth said he did his own stunts, just as Nicolas Cages does all his own Ghost Rider performance this time around — and Whitworth’s stunts include getting thrown by Ghost Rider. Even if that might hurt, he insisted this was one of the favorite things he did in character.

“Ghost Rider” is scheduled to be released on February 17, 2012.
