'True Blood' Star Joe Manganiello Confirms He's Up For 'Superman' Reboot Role

The Superman reboot news just keeps coming.

Yesterday, we learned that Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot may shoot, at least in part, in Alberta, Canada. Now here's "True Blood" star Joe Manganiello confirming a rumor that he is in the running for the lead role of Clark Kent/Superman!

The Los Angeles Times reported earlier this week that rumors pointed to the TV werewolf being a top contender in the running for the Man of Steel role. Extra cornered him with video camera in hand and convinced him to address the rumor directly:

"Well that's not really up to me at this point," he said. "It's out there in the ether, so we'll see." It's worth noting that he doesn't seem particularly happy to be fielding the questions, likely because there's some truth to it but big decisions are still yet to be made. Make no mistake though; Manganiello makes it clear that he would jump at such an opportunity.

"I would be honored to if they would choose to do that," he said. Manganiello certainly isn't going to be sitting by the phone, waiting. He's busy now shooting the next season of "True Blood," which he says is all about the "witches." He's no stranger to comic books though; Manganiello also played high school Flash Thompson in Sam Raimi's first "Spider-Man" movie.
