Oscar Nominations, A ‘Fantastic Four’ Death, And ‘Wizard’ Magazine In Today’s Twitter Report

Spoiler haters around the world woke up to a chilling reveal today as news rolled about a specific character’s death in “Fantastic Four.” His or her name will not appear in the Twitter Report today, so feel free to read on. You will, however, find a few colorful reactions from around the industry.

Two other deaths unleashed some tweets yesterday as it was revealed that Wizard Magazine and ToyFare would be discontinued. Lovers and haters alike spoke up, but Gail Simone sought to calm everyone down. Find out what she said alongside some Oscar nomination and “Evangelion 2.0” opinions. They’re in today’s tiny Twitter mixtape after the jump.

I’m @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter Report for January 25, 2011.

@fredrin I would like to remind people to NOT go see Evangelion 2.0. Gainax’s attitude towards Asuka has not changed. #intolerable #asukafan
-Fred Gallagher, Writer/Artist (“Megatokyo”)

@Paul_Cornell Put my Oscar bets on before the noms came out, in search of added value. Broadly, I think King’s Speech will beat favourite Social Network.
-Paul Cornell, Writer (“Knight and Squire,” “Captain Britain and MI: 13”)

“Fantastic Four” pt. 1: @neilkleid Oh come on, Associated Press! How dare you spoil the big Fantastic Four death after I specifically googled and went looking for it?!
-Neil Kleid, Writer (“Ursa Minors,” “Action, Ohio”)

“Fantastic Four” pt. 2: @Christosgage Found myself trying to avoid Fantastic Four death spoilers until I remembered I’ve known for like a year.
-Christos Gage, Writer (“Union Jack,” “Absolution”)

“Fantastic Four” pt. 3: @Southworth Why does anyone waste any time talking about “deaths” in comic books? The status quo is always just around the corner, guys. LEARN.
-Paul Southworth, Writer/Artist (“Ugly Hill”)

Wizard pt. 1:@MarkBrooksArt Every1 tweeting their sympathy at Wizard Magazine’s demise but I can’t help but question whether these people have bought an issue recently
-Mark Brooks, Artist (“Cable & Deadpool,” “Dark Reign: Young Avengers”)

Wizard pt. 2:@GailSimone I don’t get people crowing about Wizard ceasing publication. You didn’t like it, fair enough. But why be a jerk about it?
-Gail Simone, Writer (“Birds of Prey,” “Wonder Woman”)

Deep Thought for the Day:

@drhastings Sometimes I read the comments on Yahoo! News, so that I feel hate.
-Chris Hastings, Writer/Artist (“The Adventures of Dr. McNinja”)
