Ever since Nick Fury uttered the phrase "the Avengers initiative" to Tony Stark at the end of the first "Iron Man," fans have been waiting with bated breath to see ol' Shellhead get together with Thor and Captain America on the silver screen. But there has been some skepticism as to how it would all work out — after all, Tony is a tech-based character while someone like Thor depends heavily on mysticism.
While we're not necessarily closer to an answer on how well they'll share the screen in "The Avengers," we certainly have a much better idea about how the Thunder God is going to fit into cinemas next summer.
Marvel Studios and Paramount have unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for "Thor," director Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of the classic Marvel Comics hero — and needless to say, it looks like Marvel has captured lightning in a bottle once again.
Chris Hemsworth stars in "Thor" as the titular God of Thunder, a warrior living in the faraway land of Asgard. He's a skilled but arrogant fighter that battles alongside equally courageous men like the Warriors Three, but when Thor's reckless actions reawaken an ancient war, he's cast down to Earth and forced to live amongst mankind. As a great threat from Asgard looms over Earth, Thor becomes the only one capable of saving both worlds from total destruction.
We'll be back in a few with some analysis, but for now, what do you think of the trailer? Does it measure up to your expectations? Does it exceed it? Does it fall short? Give us your reactions to the new "Thor" trailer in the comments section and on Twitter!
