Liked The 'Cowboys & Aliens' Trailer? Check Out Some New Photos!

Cowboys & AliensThe "Green Lantern" trailer may have left fans divided, but the "Cowboys & Aliens" trailer that premiered earlier today is proving to be an impressive source of unity in the comics-to-film world.

The trailer for Jon Favreau's adaptation of the Platinum Studios graphic novel has been receiving high praise since it debuted this afternoon, and combined with its all-star cast that includes Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde, and Harrison Ford, it's very possible that we're looking at one of next year's biggest hits.

But the trailer wasn't all that was released today from "Cowboys & Aliens." Universal Pictures has also released a set of new images from the film — some from the trailer, some brand new.

And just in case you haven't been following along at home, "Cowboys & Aliens" tells the story of a mysterious stranger (played by Daniel Craig) who wander sinto the town of Absolution with a strange shackle on his wrist and no memory. His situation goes from bad to terrible when he ends up at the center of a power struggle between the town's residents and the grizzled Col. Woodrow Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford). And then the aliens arrive...

The original "Cowboys & Aliens" graphic novel was published in 2006 by Platinum Studios. It was created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg and written by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley.

The "Cowboys & Aliens" movie is scheduled to premiere in July 2011.
