Robert Kirkman Welcomes You To 'The Walking Dead' Week On Splash Page!

We're less than a week away from the long-awaited premiere of "The Walking Dead," AMC's upcoming television series based on the award-winning Image Comics series, and that means it's time to kick off "Walking Dead Week" here on Splash Page!

As we get closer to the big premiere on Halloween night, we'll have bunches of interviews, clips, and even a "Walking Dead" contest or two here on the site, beginning with this introduction from the creator of "The Walking Dead" himself, Robert Kirkman!

"Every single episode, [special effects supervisor] Greg Nicotero finds a way to top himself," Kirkman told MTV News. "You'll just be watching the show and be like, 'Oh, that one! That's the most amazing zombie I've ever seen on screen before!' So the best zombies are in episode six."

Kirkman also praised AMC's marketing strategy for the series, indicating that what they left out of the promotional push is just as important as what was shown.

"They're showing people just enough to get them excited," he explained. "There are so many things in the pilot and the other episodes that you don't know anything about, that you haven't seen any snippet of. And the things you have seen in the promotions and trailer and everything, there are so many other cool aspects to those scenes."

"It's definitely not going to be one of those cases where you're like, 'I've seen so much of this and I know exactly what's going to happen,'" added Kirkman. "I think people are really going to be blown away by the pilot. There's a lot in there that's just surprisingly awesome."

"The Walking Dead" premieres Halloween night, October 31, at 10 PM EST on AMC. The series stars Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Laurie Holden, Chandler Riggs, Sarah Wayne Callies, and Steven Yeun, among other notable actors. Keep it locked to Page all week for more "The Walking Dead" news, interviews, clips, and giveaways!
