NYCC 2010: Danny McBride To Write 'Your Highness' Prequel Comic, And We Have Your First Look!

Your Highness"Eastbound and Down" actor Danny McBride is putting his unique spin on sword-and-sorcery movies with the upcoming "Your Highness," but the fantasy tale won't be confined to the big screen — it's getting a comic book prequel from Dark Horse Comics, too.

Announced today at New York Comic Con and set to hit shelves March 2011, the "Your Highness" comic will feature a story written by Jeff Fradley and McBride himself, with interior art by Sean Phillips and Gabriel Guzman. Dark Horse Comics has provided Splash Page readers with the exclusive first look at Phillips' cover for the comic, featuring McBride as the lazy Prince Thadeous, James Franco as his brother, Prince Fabious, and Zooey Deschanel as Belladonna.

Danny McBride writes the prequel to the upcoming blockbuster from Universal, Your Highness! Prince Fabious is the pride of his kingdom—his exploits are the stuff of legend. To keep the kingdom of Mourne safe from the vicious wizard Leezar’s minions, he will have to slay a rampaging cyclops that has already destroyed a village! In the meantime, Prince Thadeous, Fabious’s brother and royal embarrassment, embarks on a diplomatic mission to the Dwarf Kingdom. All he needs to secure peace with the dwarves is to obtain a simple signature.
