MTV Splash Page is far from alone at New York Comic Con this weekend. Now that everyone's settled in, the show's underway and the announcements have begun rolling in. Yesterday's bombshell came in the form of a cover price drop from both DC and Marvel. The creative community reacted, even as Gail Simone revealed a plot to impersonate Brian Michael Bendis.
In other fun undertakings, Paul Cornell took off for Wembley Area for some live "Doctor Who" action, and Brad Meltzer could use your advice for his son's Halloween costume. Find out if you have any suggestions below, and let him know!
I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is your Twitter Report for October 8, 2010.
@Paul_Cornell Tonight we're off to Doctor Who Live at Wembley Arena. We're invited because they're using... something I wrote. #fb
-Paul Cornell, Writer ("Wisdom," "Captain Britain and MI: 13")
-Jim Lee, Artist ("Batman," "X-Men")
@GailSimone My plan is to dress up like Brian Bendis and run around the convention hall feeling up the janitors. It's a solid plan.
-Gail Simone, Writer ("Birds of Prey," "Wonder Woman")
@Alejandrobot #protip for chatting up a lady at a cocktail party: Bring a buddy you can talk to in a sexy foreign language. Thank you, Salvador Larroca!
-Alejandro Arbona, Editor ("Thor," "The Immortal Iron Fist")
Prices pt. 1: @thatpetewoods So--- is there a downside to this $2.99 thing? I can't really find much of one...
-Pete Woods, Artist ("Action Comics," "Amazons Attack!")
Prices pt. 2: @djcoffman Interesting news about comics lowering their cover prices. It's about dang time!
-DJ Coffman, Writer/Artist ("Hero By Night")
Prices pt. 3: @beranek Kudos to Marvel and DC for rolling back many of their titles to 2.99. If you roll back digital editions to .99 that would be wise as well.
-Christian Beranek, Writer ("Dracula vs. King Arthur," "Starship Troopers")
@bradmeltzer Need help: my son wants to be Orange Lantern Larfleeze for Halloween. Ideas for how to do this beyond the shirt?
-Brad Meltzer, Writer ("Identity Crisis," "Justice League of America")
Deep Thought for the Day:
@matt_sturges Bear Trivia: There is no hard scientific data suggesting that a bear can wield a machete. But that doesn't mean it's not possible.
-Matt Sturges, Writer ("Jack of Fables," "Blue Beetle")
