Fan-Made 'The Walking Dead' Intro Pays Tribute To Comics In Best Possible Way

"The Walking Dead" premieres on AMC next month (October 31), and though we haven't seen the official opening sequence for the series just yet, a new, fan-made intro to the series is making the rounds — and it's pretty spectacular.

Created by animation artist Daniel M. Kanemoto out of images from Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard and Tony Moore's celebrated comic book series, the fan-made intro unfolds over The Eels' haunting (and appropriately mood-setting) tune "Fresh Blood." Check it out:

"I wondered what the opening titles to this terrifying new television show might look like... so I animated a spec title sequence using artwork ripped from the pages of the comic, originally illustrated by Charlie Adlard and Tony Moore," wrote Kanemoto on the video's Vimeo homepage.

More and more "Walking Dead" material is hitting the 'net these days, with a new "Walking Dead" poster arriving last week, and three new "Walking Dead" ads premiering a week earlier.

I visited the Atlanta set of "The Walking Dead" in June, and have been rolling out segments from the event here on Splash Page on a weekly basis.

"The Walking Dead" premieres Halloween night, October 31, at 10 PM EST on AMC. The series stars Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Laurie Holden, Chandler Riggs, Sarah Wayne Callies, and Steven Yeun, among other actors.
