New 'Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions' Trailer: Mysterio, Juggernaut, Carnage, And... Deadpool?!

Activision recently released a brand new trailer for "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions," the latest video game to feature your friendly neighborhood webslinger. For anyone curious about which villains Spidey will face in the game, the new footage provided some very cool, very impressive answers.

Here's the new "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions" trailer that debuted on GameTrailers, but keep reading for some screenshots of some of my favorite bad guys to make an appearance in the footage:

Just in case you're new to the "Shattered Dimensions" hype, the game features a quartet of Spider-Man iterations from the character's long history, including the black-suited symbiote Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Man Noir, and the classic red-and-blue Spider-Man. And like I mentioned earlier, it features a heaping helping of villains, too.

One of the main bad guys in the game appears to be Mysterio, as he's seen fighting multiple versions of Spider-Man throughout the footage. As you can see from the pic below, the master of illusion has received a bit of a makeover for the game, though.

We also get an appearance from Kraven the Hunter...

... and who's that? It's the Juggernaut, bitch!

Okay, now feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but this looks an awful lot like Deadpool. The costume seems to have been tweaked a bit, but this sure looks like the ol' merc with a mouth, right?

[Update: Splash Page reader Tyler pointed out that this is the Ultimate Universe version of Deadpool. I knew I recognized that costume from somewhere! Nice catch!]

From the Spider-Man 2099 universe, we also get a peek at Hobgoblin 2099, the future-world counterpart to classic Spidey villain Hobgoblin.

For everyone out there hoping for a symbiote-on-symbiote clash, it looks like Spidey will indeed be facing the psychotic symbiote himself, Carnage. Scary!

We also get a look at flat-headed mafia boss Hammerhead, who's likely to give Spider-Man Noir some trouble with that machine gun.

And Spidey will tangle with the Noir-universe version of Vulture in the game, who we get a good look at in this screenshot:

And for the big finale shot, it looks like Sandman will present a pretty massive obstacle for Spider-Man to overcome at some point in the game... and as well he should (since he's one of my favorite Spidey villains).

"Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions" hits shelves September 7.
