‘Scott Pilgrim’ Set Visit: Behind The Scenes At Lee’s Palace!

Earlier today we brought you a new clip from “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World,” and now we have your ticket to a behind-the-scenes peek at one of the film’s most epic scenes: the Clash at Demonhead show at Lee’s Palace!

Filmed during MTV’s visit to the set of “Scott Pilgrim” last year, the video offers an introduction to the set by Ramona Flowers herself (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), as well as the members of Scott Pilgrim’s band, Sex Bob-Omb, and the trio known as The Clash at Demonhead — which happens to include Scott’s ex-girlfriend Envy Adams (Brie Larson) and Evil Ex #3, Todd Ingram (Brandon Routh).

“Basically, [I’m] the best Ex,” Routh told MTV News of the scene being filmed that day. While sporting Todd Ingram’s signature blond hair (a wig), Routh explained what else the scene has in store for the film’s slacker hero. “Scott’s going to get the crap beat of him by me pummeling him through walls and everything, and then we have a big bass battle, which is a lot of fun.”

“This set is based on a real rock club, Lee’s Palace,” said director Edgar Wright of the inspiration for the scene’s location — a real-life Toronto rock club. “And the only reason we’re shooting this as a set [instead of] the real Lee’s Palace is because a whole bunch of walls need to get knocked down.”

During our visit to the set, we even got a very in-character interview with the Clash at Demonhead threesome, who explained what their plans were that night.

“The main thing is, we just to spread the love and play a really rockin’ show, and hopefully something really universal happens tonight,” said Larson (as Envy Adams).

“The music is amazing, and the extras have been really amazing at making it seem authentic and real and really going for it,” said Winstead of the filming. “So it’s been an awesome day, because it feels like we’re just hanging out at a really fun concert.”

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World” hits theaters August 13.
