TWITTER REPORT: Justin Bieber In 3-D, Brett Favre's Retirement, And Gaiman/Larsen: Day 3

Justin Bieber 3-DThe post-courtroom discussion of Neil Gaiman and Todd McFarlane's dispute over Spawn-related character rights entered another day in the Twittersphere. Gaiman spoke up and Larsen has defended comments he's made about female jurors and the O.J. Simpson trial. He also thinks his comments have been taken out of context, though, so you may want to click on through to his account to follow the lengthy back-and-forths that have been taking place.

Further controversy in the Report today come from Brett Favre's annual retirement circus and a newly announced Justin Bieber biopic in 3-D. You'll find two comics professionals who are not fans of those respective topics and thoughts on Vladimir Putin from David Hahn below.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for August 4, 2010.

@andeparks So, is this latest Favre ridiculousness about him holding the Vikes up for more cash? He's not THAT far gone, is he?!

-Ande Parks, Writer/Artist ("Green Arrow," "Capote")

@GailSimone If the zombies in the comic had British accents, it would have to be retitled THE WALKING DEAD (ARE DEUCED CHARMING TO BROADS)

-Gail Simone, Writer ("Birds of Prey," "Wonder Woman")

@brubaker @neilhimself My wife still asks about u sometimes and I thought it was because u were nice, but now i see it's just the accent, isn't it?

-Ed Brubaker, Writer ("Captain America," "Incognito")

@D_MacPherson Justin Bieber 3D movie? I would rather eat my own face. #justsayin'

-Dwight MacPherson, Writer ("Sidewise," "The Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poo")

@jeffparker hey no fair, how did Erik Larsen pull ahead of me in followers today

-Jeff Parker, Writer ("Agents of Atlas," "Underground")

@KurtBusiek Hey, for all that Erik Larsen may be a grumpus on Twitter, SAVAGE DRAGON is still a really fun book.

-Kurt Busiek, Writer ("Astro City," "Avengers")

@neilhimself @ErikJLarsen I see from that you compared me to OJ Simpson. I don't have anything to say to you.

-Neil Gaiman, Writer ("The Sandman," "Miracleman")

@ErikJLarsen At no point in my life have I made blanket statements condemning any group--but folks are mighty quick to accuse me of doing such a thing.

-Erik Larsen, Writer/Artist ("Savage Dragon," "The Amazing Spider-Man")

Parting Wisdom for the Day:

@David_Hahn It's totally impossible to accurately draw Vladimir Putin without it looking like you don't know how to draw. #ruleofcomics#32

-David Hahn, Artist ("Marvel Adventures: Fantastic Four," "Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane")
