Fresh off our first of three live-stream shows here at Comic-Con, there is exciting news to report from “Star Trek” and “Red” star Karl Urban. The actor, who is rumored to be named the star of the next Judge Dredd movie, told MTV News a bit cheekily, that “Yeah, that’s correct, that’s a big rumor going on.”
He then added, “I can’t say too much at this point but it’s lookin’ good.”
Urban said he’s been a fan of Dredd since he was a teenager, and “started reading Dredd 25 years ago.”
“[He is a] phenomenal iconic comic book character, so it’s a world I know and it would be a privilege and a pleasure to be able to bring that to life,” he added.
Judge Joe Dredd first appeared in the British science fiction anthology “2000 AD” and is the magazine’s longest running strip.
