TWITTER REPORT: Mel Gibson Rants, ‘Thor’ Picture Reactions, And ‘Inception’ Praise

Three films prompted impassioned tweets in the Twitter Report feed this morning — “Thor,” “Inception” and “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” — but each for different reasons. A new image of Thor, Odin and Loki drew some eyeballs, but reactions were diverse. Ed Brubaker, meanwhile, wants you to go see “Inception,” and Edgar Wright just seemed a little giddy witnessing a gigantic “Scott Pilgrim” poster getting ready to go up on a Hilton in advance of Comic-Con.

Predators” drew some mixed reactions as well, which you can check out below. They’re there, along with opinions on Mel Gibson’s recent remarks and a call for Eric Bana to return as The Hulk.

I’m @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter Report for July 14, 2010.

@brubaker Everyone go see Inception this weekend. Let’s encourage some big non-sequel or tie-in type of films.
-Ed Brubaker, Writer (“Incognito,” “Captain America”)

@edgarwright Holy Shit! What is That?
-Edgar Wright, Director (“Scott Pilgrim vs. The World”)

@pauljholden Ok: Thor Loki odin pic? I got sucked into the Kirbyesque armour, you are of course all right, it looks awful. AWFULLY AWESOME! BANG!
-P.J. Holden, Artist (“Judge Dredd,” “The 86ers”)

Hulk pt. 1: @mrtonylee You know what – I’m gonna call it. I reckon the whole Ed Norton thing is a play to build excitement for SDCC. I reckon he’s still Banner.
-Tony Lee, Writer (“Doctor Who,” “The Gloom”)

Hulk pt. 2: @neilkleid @mrtonylee I’d been thinking that – that Feige and Norton are gonna shake hands and smile at SDCC – but I dunno. We’ll see
-Neil Kleid, Writer (“Ursa Minors,” “Action, Ohio”)

Hulk pt. 3: @mrtonylee Second call. If they DON’T bring out Norton, then they should do the right thing and bring out ERIC F—ING BANA.

“Predators” pt. 1: @JAMALIGLE Just watched Predators. Decent buy ultimately forgettable.
-Jamal Igle, Artist (“Firestorm,” “Supergirl”)

“Predators” pt. 2: @AndyBelanger Predators was AHHH-MAZING! When I grow up I want to be Danny Trejo! #WOAawesome #fb
-Andy Belanger, Artist (“Raising Hell,” “Wolf”)

@boxbrown Dude, the new Mel Gibson tape reveals why he’s so angry in the first place.
-Box Brown, Writer/Artist (“Bellen!”)

Parting Wisdom for the Day:

-Drunk Hulk
