Jon Favreau had one thing on his mind last night while he was trying to fall asleep, and the words "Iron" and "Man" were definitely involved. If he was watching the Twitter Report feed, he would have at least seen that "Y: The Last Man" artist Pia Guerra enjoyed it. I'm sure many others did, too, and will continue to do so over the course of the weekend.
Kieron Gillen, meanwhile, didn't sound like he's been all that impressed with the new game "Alan Wake." He voiced some skepticism about the new release's reception. Ron Marz, of course, is always more than skeptical about comic book piracy. Marz, Kurt Busiek and B. Clay Moore all weighed in on the topic in the last 24 hours. Their opinions come in the wake of an FBI raid on the comics-hosting site HTMLcomics.com.
Their stances and more await in the Twitter Report for May 6, 2010.
@Jon_Favreau I can't sleep. The movie opens in less than 24 hours.
-Jon Favreau, Director ("Iron Man," "Iron Man 2")
@PiaGuerra Saw Iron Man 2 this evening, that was a fun time.
-Pia Guerra, Artist ("Y: The Last Man," "Doctor Who: The Forgotten")
@kierongillen EG Alan Wake thread: fascinated by the idea that an AAA game deserves to be treated with deference and respect simply for existing.
-Kieron Gillen, Writer ("Thor," "Phonogram")
Piracy pt. 1: @KurtBusiek @ronmarz Copyright is control, and infringement is taking that control away. It's not the object being stolen, it's the control.
-Kurt Busiek, Writer ("Superman," "Astro City")
Piracy pt. 2: @ronmarz I'd also like to point out that when I smack somebody about piracy, I gain followers, not lose 'em. Draw your own conclusions.
-Ron Marz, Writer ("Green Lantern," "Witchblade")
Piracy pt. 3: @bclaymoore @ronmarz I've given up fighting piracy, and am just glad when someone's reading my work. Not much else to do.
-B. Clay Moore, Writer ("Hawaiian Dick," "Billy Smoke")
Piracy pt. 4: @ronmarz I actually have more respect for those who are man enough to say, "I'm a thief" rather than spout a bunch of rationalizing bullsh--.
@radiomaru I'm waiting for Edgar Wright to wake me up with another 7 AM phone call. God no wonder I'm so tired right now
-Bryan Lee O'Malley, Writer/Artist ("Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," "Lost at Sea")
-Neil Gaiman, Writer ("The Sandman," "Miracleman")
Parting Wisdom for the Day:
@TONYFINGHARRIS If a worthy org asks for a page, or a cover to raise money for a cause. Do it. If someone stops u on the show floor, and u are going to a signing elsewhere, or to the sh--ter, stop for 1 second, and sign a book.( unless ur gonna sh-- yer pants.)
