Jon Favreau Confirms Harrison Ford In ‘Cowboys And Aliens’

Looks like at least one of the widely circulated rumors we told you about yesterday has some confirmation — and it comes from the best possible source.

According to “Cowboys & Aliens” director Jon Favreau, actor Harrison Ford is indeed joining the cast of the film, which is currently scheduled for a July 2011 release. He’ll join existing cast members Daniel Craig and Olivia Wilde, who are set to star in the adaptation of the 2007 Platinum Studios comic.

“Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in Cowboys & Aliens. Okay? He is,” wrote Favreau on Twitter. “Please don’t tell anybody.”

Ford’s attachment to the film was first reported by Latino Review yesterday.

Written by Fred Van Lente & Andrew Foley with art from Dennis Calero & Luciano Lima (and based on a concept by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg), “Cowboys and Aliens” involves an alien invasion in the 19th century and the locals’ attempts to fight off the invaders.
