Epic conversations for the ages consumed the Twitter Report feed today, as Tony Harris and Ron Marz pondered what makes writers worthy of hate, P.J. Holden and Tony Lee discussed what makes creators "professionals" and Jamie McKelvie wondered if "Final Fantasy XIII" is actually an RPG.
If you're mind hasn't been blown by the time you've finished pondering these subjects yourself, check out out Ben Templesmith's connection to "The Pacific," who cleans up at TopCow "Halo" tournaments and how Mike Norton draws Tawky Tawny.
It's all retweeted after the jump in the Twitter Report for March 24th, 2010.
@McKelvie FFXIII isn't actually an RPG is it? But then most Japanese RPGs I've played don't actually qualify either. They're more Adventure games.
-Jamie McKelvie, Artist ("Suburban Glamour," "Phonogram")
@Templesmith Still loving the opening of The Pacific. My grandfather was an unofficial war artist in the Pacific theatre... put out a book much later on
-Ben Templesmith, Writer/Artist ("30 Days of Night," "Welcome to Hoxford")
Writers pt. 1: @TONYFINGHARRIS Ya know what I hate? Well, lots of things, but I really hate writers who think they are Jeezus. You are their Art-Monkey. Nope.....
-Tony Harris, Artist ("Ex Machina," "War Heroes")
Writers pt. 2: @ronmarz @TONYFINGHARRIS Writers who only want an art monkey are dumbasses. You guys make us look good if we let you do what you do.
-Ron Marz, Writer ("Green Lantern," "Witchblade")
@RickBas9 Halo nights at @TopCow are always the best!! Great times watching the other team cry like little girls XD
-Rick Basaldua, Inker ("Witchblade/Devi," "Hunter-Killer")
@MykeNorten I drew the most terrifying Tawky Tawny today. My Tawny is an intelligent tiger... who may eat you.
-Mike Norton, Artist ("Blue Beetle," "Gravity")
Parting Wisdom for the Day:
Professional qualifications pt. 1: @pauljholden @mrtonylee I think the line is blurrier than that. I know a few guys that are 'pro' but have yet to be paid for anything (and the reverse)
-P.J. Holden, Artist ("Judge Dredd," "The 86ers")
Professional qualifications pt. 2: @mrtonylee @pauljholden oh to be sure, but I use that as my general rule of thumb. If you're in a paid gig and you've not been paid - still pro.
-Tony Lee, Writer ("Doctor Who," "The Gloom")
