Michael Cera Says He’s Seen All Of ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World’ (Sort Of)

With “Youth in Revolt” bringing Michael Cera to theaters this week, it’s only natural that when we had a chance to chat with him during the film’s red carpet premiere, Splash Page had to sneak in a few questions about another little film he’s involved in: “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.”

“When we were shooting, they were cutting the movie as we were shooting,” Cera told MTV News when asked how much of director Edgar Wright’s finished film he’d seen. “[Wright] would bring down his laptop every day and show us stuff. So, I’ve kind of seen the whole thing out of order, but I haven’t seen anything cut together… except on the last day, he showed the whole crew a 40-minute reel.”

Hype for the film seems to be at an all-time high right now, with many actors, filmmakers and comic book creators name-dropping the live-action adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s series as one of the films they’re most looking forward to in 2010.

“I think I’m going to like it, and it will definitely have an audience,” said Cera of the high expectations created by all the hype. “Even if people don’t like it, they won’t be able to watch it and not appreciate how much work went into it.”

“He’s spent every minute thinking about that movie for the last three years and I think it shows,” he said.
