Today's live "Avatar" Q&A with director James Cameron and stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana is over, but for those who made sure to check it out (and if you didn't, don't worry — we'll have it on the site soon) you might have noticed something with an interesting comics angle popping up throughout the show.
Check out Worthington's shirt:
Yes, that's a t-shirt featuring Earth's Mightiest Heroes, The Avengers, being sported by the "Avatar" actor.
Since we know Worthington is no stranger to comics these days (he recently signed on to produce and star in an adaptation of Rick Remender's "The Last Days of American Crime" series), we couldn't help but wonder if Worthington is trying to send us a message. After all, Marvel's still looking for actors to play Captain America and Hawkeye last we checked.
So, could Worthington be conducting a silent campaign for one of the roles... or is he already cast and just getting in the spirit of things? Are we looking too far into this? Do we even want to see the Australian actor in either of those roles? If not Cap or Hawkeye, who else?
Now that we've seen Worthington sporting that Avengers shirt, these are the questions that bother us so. And now they'll probably bother you, too. Sorry about that.
