The upcoming Platinum Studios comic book “Indestructible Man” has already been optioned as a potential TV series by Fox21.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series revolves around Nick Rabel, a secret agent who is unable to die, but not impervious to injury.
"[Fox21] really understood this character and the world he inhabits from the very first meeting," explained Platinum Studios chairman Scott Rosenberg. The series will also reportedly mix superpowers with humor.
The deal comes in the midst of an especially busy year for Platinum Studios in Hollywood. The company’s signature book—“Cowboys & Aliens”—has been on the fast track at Dreamworks and Universal with Robert Downey Jr. and director Jon Favreau attached along with “Star Trek” screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
Additionally, the Platinum Studios-produced “Dead of Night” has already begun filming—with Brandon Routh in the lead role of Dylan Dog—and “Atlantis Rising” is expected to go into production soon, followed by the recently optioned “Mal Chance.”
