Unfinished ‘Flash’ Video Game Footage?

Fans of video games based on comic book characters have had it pretty good lately, between “Batman: Arkham Asylum,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and “Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2,” we’ve finally seen a string of decent (and dare I say really freakin’ good) games based on popular characters. However, one character we might not see in his own game any time soon is DC’s scarlet speedster, The Flash—at least, that’s if you trust the validity of the footage making the rounds online.

Over on YouTube, user “misterbigmouth” has posted a video claiming to be “early game footage from the cancelled Flash video game.” The video shows the familiar red-and-gold character running and jumping through a fairly large city, beating up groups of criminals and otherwise doing what someone blessed by the Speed Force does best.

“When our publisher Brash folded we were about 6 months into full production with about a year still to go on the game so please excuse the roughness of how it looks at this stage,” writes the user. “A lot of the core elements were just starting to surface and we were all really saddened that the game couldn’t be saved. It was showing much potential.”

While there’s no way to be certain at this point whether the footage is legit, it’s certianly nice to think a game featuring the character was in the works—as I always thought those “Sonic the Hedgehog” games would be a lot cooler with superheroes.
