'Ninja Turtles' Actor Elias Koteas Isn't In 'Green Lantern' (Even If Wikipedia Says He Is)

Actor Elias Koteas might be best-known to Splash Page readers for his role as Casey Jones in the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movies, but when we were getting ready to speak to him about his upcoming film "Defendor" with Woody Harrelson, we noticed an interesting entry in his online resume. According to Wikipedia (not the most reliable source of information, we know), Koteas has a role in the live-action "Green Lantern" movie scheduled for release in 2011.

According to Koteas, the "Green Lantern" role is news to him.

"Am I in the movie?" asked Koteas when MTV Movies Editor Joshua Horowitz brought up the project's presence on his wiki-based resume.

After confirming that he hasn't heard a thing about the film, Koteas said that doesn't mean he wouldn't be willing to join the cast alongside star Ryan Reynolds.

"Sure, the more the better. I need the work," he laughed, adding, "Maybe they're confusing me with someone."

And a case of mistaken identity could indeed be at the heart of Koteas' mystery role. Hear me out, folks:

On more than one occasion, I've found myself arguing with fans of the "Ninja Turtles" films that the actor who played Casey Jones was not, in fact, Christopher Meloni. Have a peek at photos of the pair and you'll probably agree that "Law & Order: C.S.I." actor Meloni bears a striking resemblance to Koteas when he played the Nina Turtles' favorite hockey-stick-wielding vigilante.

Now, take into account Meloni's recent role as Green Lantern (or rather, his voice) in the animated feature "Green Lantern: First Flight," and the pieces start to fall together in this puzzle.

So, Wikipedia crew, let it be know that Elias Koteas does not, in fact, have a role in "Green Lantern." In fact, I think you can consider "The Case Of Casey Jones And The Confusing Comic Book Movie" officially closed.
