Make big news involving two companies with some of the most iconic characters around, throw in a massive fanbase filled with talented artists, and you have a recipe for... mash-ups!
Ever since the Walt Disney Company announced plans to purchase Marvel this week, art featuring a blend of Disney and Marvel characters has flown around the 'Net. From MODUCK to Spider-Mickey, everything's been fair game—and the results have been, well... you should probably have a look for yourself.
Here are a few of our favorites thus far, and some links to help you find more of them around the InterWebs.
First off, here's M.O.D.U.C.K., as designed by Chris Samnee and inspired by the good ol' Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. I'm still trying to figure out what the "U.C.K." stands for.
Next up is Mickey Mouse as Wolverine, designed by Khary Randolph.
Even "The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien" got into the game with the image of "Gooferine" pictured above and the following image of "Thingerella."
All these and more are popping up around the 'Webs lately, especially on Twitter (check out the #disneybuysmarvel hashtag).
