The Day-After Poll: ‘Green Lantern: Blackest Night’ #1 Wins The Week, Fans Dig The Power Ring

It was difficult to find someone who wasn’t buzzing about the first issue of DC’s big “Blackest Night” crossover event this week. Everyone was praising the kickoff of Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis’ brewing war among the Green Lanterns and a variety of other color-coordinated cosmic factions.

I have to admit that the compliments seemed well-deserved, as I had no problem jumping into “Blackest Night” myself despite not being entirely caught up with recent “Green Lantern” story arcs. I am a bit disappointed that I didn’t get one of these cool Power Rings that came with the issues I keep hearing about!

Anyways, here’s what some Splash Page readers had to say (via Twitter) about their favorite issues in this week’s comics. Feel free to add your own thoughts to the mix, but remember: I’m asking for your favorite comics of the week, so let’s focus on the positive!

@Knippenberg: Blackest Night #1, Wednesday Comics #2, Amazing Spider-Man #599

@goodmanw: I loved Blackest Night Johns set up the perfect tone for what’s to come with this event. Dark, scary, and thrilling. Loved it

@stupendous_man: BLACKEST NIGHT was SWEET!!!

@shutupimtalking: SLG’s Zeke Deadwood came in for me this week and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, Wednesday Comics continues to impress.

@lazzyfair: Gotta say, Blackest Night is up there. Plus you can’t beat a free power ring to boot! Gotta geek in style…

@WilsonWelch: Blackest Night #1. Hands down.

So, there you have it! Feel free to let me know what your favorite comics were this week in the comment section!
