Live-Action ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Movie To Hold Open Auditions

If you’ve ever fantasized about starring in a “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” film and you live in or around Los Angeles, you might be in luck — as long as you’re an expert martial artist, that is.

On July 18, Mirage Studios, 4Kids Entertainment and TMNT Productions are holding an open casting call for the upcoming, live-action “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” film. Producers are seeking martial arts experts to audition for the movie, and the best audition of the bunch will be hired as the newest member of the nefarious Foot Clan.

As per the official announcement, the casting call is “part of the 25th Anniversary Shell-ebration of the ’Heroes on a Half Shell’ in 2009, and a great way to bring together all schools of martial arts to become part of the new generation of TMNT.”

The audition will consist of a 30-second martial arts demo (single person only). Metal, sharp and bladed weapons are completely prohibited from the audition. Applicants must be over the age of 14.

Judging the audition process are “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” producers Scott Mednick and Galen Walker, Jason Morgan from the American Taekwondo Association, and martial arts expert Ernie Reyes, Jr, who starred as Keno in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze.”

Auditions will be held at the Hollywood & Highland center located at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
