‘Deadpool’ Edges Out ‘Wolverine’ Sequel As Most-Wanted X-Men Movie

Last week, we asked you which of the potential movies involving Marvel’s X-Men you’d most like to see, and after a week of voting, it looks like we have a winner for the title of “Most-Wanted X-Men Movie.”

With more than 30 percent of the total votes, Ryan Reynolds’ recently announced “Deadpool” spin-off movie was the favorite among a fairly large number of voters. Splash Page readers came out in force to support the ol’ Merc With A Mouth, and it sounds like they’re not letting the character’s much-debated debut in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” dampen any of their enthusiasm for the character.

“I voted for Deadpool because he is Deadpool duh!” wrote Splash Page reader “feelgooddrag.”

However, the difference between the top vote-getter and the second-place finisher was closer than one might expect, with the sequel to “Wolverine” sinking its claws into 28 percent of the vote. Snikt!

It was a big jump down to the other two films, though, with each tallying a nearly identical number of votes. Josh Schwartz’ “X-Men: First Class” came in third with 21 percent of the vote, while David Goyer’s “X-Men Origins: Magneto” received slightly fewer votes and took home 20 percent of the total.

“Deadpool, shemedpool. I want a Teen-Cyclops movie!” wrote “Toast-Jammer” of where his vote was headed.

Still, some readers felt there should’ve been another option in the poll — specifically, a film devoted to everyone’s favorite kinetically-charged Cajun.

“Gambit. That’s what I wanna see,” wrote reader “LucasScott.”

Keep an eye out for a new poll tomorrow, and keep the comments coming!
