Awesome Gallery Of Lego Movie Posters -- Including 'Wolverine' And '300’!

Lego WolverineBack in the day, when I sat down with my big box of Lego building blocks, I never ended up assembling anything that was even close to as cool as some of the stuff I've seen around the 'Net. From zombie invasions to scenes from H.P. Lovecraft stories, the products of skilled Lego craftspeople aren't difficult to find around the InterWebs -- but every now and then a great gallery pops up that really makes me feel like I wasted valuable Lego playtime years ago.

Over at design website SpeckyBoy, there's a gallery of 21 popular movie posters re-created using Lego building blocks. While the "Inglourious Basterds" and "Jaws" re-creations are particularly cool, it's the Lego "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and "300" movie posters that really caught my eye.

More than anything else, though, these posters make me wonder about the possibility of seeing Lego video games (like the "Lego Batman" and "Lego Star Wars" games) based on any of these properties. I mean, come on -- am I alone in wanting to see 300 Lego Spartans battle an army of Persians?

One other thing that popped up while checking out these Lego movie posters was the discovery of a great gallery of comics-based, custom Lego figures designed by Flickr user u7k6a123. Along with re-creations of memorable scenes from comics history, the gallery also contains a bunch of shots of the Lego-fied Batman characters (nothing new there, I know), stylized in line with Christopher Nolan's darker, "Dark Knight" tone and costuming.

It's a lot to wrap your head around, so just trust me and check it out yourself. Here's an example, featuring Lego versions of Heath Ledger's Joker, as well as Harley Quinn, Victor Zsasz and the Black Mask:

What do you think of these Lego re-creations? Would you want to see Lego games based on the films, or am I just insane?
