Not so fast, Faith No More fans. Yesterday, we reported on the announcement that "Watchmen" writer Alan Moore would be partnering with Faith No More singer Mike Patton on an upcoming multimedia project for Lex Records. We've now been informed by the U.K. label that, while Moore is indeed involved in a multi-faceted project titled "Unearthing" with a variety of artists, Patton isn't among those artists.
According to Lex Records, Patton had been approached about the project by collaborators Adam Drucker ("Doseone") and Andrew Broder ("Fog"), but the initial report indicating that that he had joined the project was in error.
As for what the project will involve, Lex founder Tom Brown told MTV News that Moore collaborated with photographer Mitch Jenkins on a photographic novel, and the subsequent audiobook based on that novel is read by Moore and scored by Drucker and Broder. "Unearthing" will be released by Lex in 2010.
The label also provided the following sample of art from "Unearthing":
