EXCLUSIVE: 'Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World' Fight Scenes Described

Scott PilgrimWith the "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" cast hard at work with director Edgar Wright in Toronto now, details about how the much-anticipated adaptation will look are finally starting to trickle out. Right now, the world knows that Wright will be using computer-enhanced effects in the insane "Scott Pilgrim" fight scenes, but very few people have been privy to what is actually going to end up on screen. However, actor Mark Webber, who plays Scott Pilgrim's bandmate Stephen Stills, is one of those people.

"Back in October, [Edgar] whips out his laptop and he shows me a rough sequence of one of the fight scenes, staged out with just some stunt actors," Webber told MTV News. "I have such a hard time describing it other than that Scott's character was flying through the air, and when there was a kick, there was -- stuff! But it looked so realistic."

The original Oni Press comics by Bryan Lee O'Malley are drenched in over-the-top kung-fu and ninja antics, often done in homage scenes to video game battles. Webber only got to see test footage demonstrating what Wright wants to do -- but he was more than impressed.

"The technology was totally out of my realm," the actor said. "I don't even know what half this stuff is, but I get the sense that we're all into something new, and it's definitely his unique way of making a film."
