EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW: 'The Surrogates: Flesh And Bone' -- Check Out The First 11 Pages Here!

'The Surrogates: Flesh and Bone'While we've been getting our daily allowances of ridiculously cool viral hype from upcoming films like "Watchmen" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," one of the movies we're most excited about has been sitting quietly in the corner -- namely, Disney's upcoming sci-fi thriller "Surrogates," based on the critically acclaimed graphic novel by creators Rob Venditti and Brett Weldele. Directed by Jonathan Mostow, the film features the star power of Bruce Willis and Ving Rhames -- no small "get" for an otherwise under-the-radar story.

And though sneak-peeks of Wolverine and eerie "Watchmen" websites are always great, what really gets us going are comic books -- and the good folks at Top Shelf Productions have given us just that with an exclusive 11-page preview of "The Surrogates: Flesh and Bone," which serves as a prequel to the original 2006 graphic novel.

"Flesh and Bone" takes place roughly 15 years before the events of the first graphic novel, shedding light on past events that brought the cast of characters together initially. In the following preview, we're dropped right into the story which finds Officer Greer (Willis' character in the film, who's become a detective when the original story unfolds) investigating the murder of a homeless man.

Anyone looking forward to the live-action "Surrogates" would do well to pay close attention to "Flesh and Bone," too -- as the film's producer Elizabeth Banks told MTV last year that she hoped to turn the prequel into a major motion picture as well.

"The Surrogates: Flesh and Bone" is scheduled to hit shelves in July 2009. Disney's live-action "Surrogates" starring Bruce Willis and Ving Rhames is scheduled for a September 25 release.
