‘Batman 3’ Script In The Works?

Let’s face it folks — with all of the hoopla surrounding “The Dark Knight” lately in terms of Oscar recognition and box office receipts, when news of the inevitable follow-up to the biggest film of 2008 pops up, it’s kind of hard to ignore. However, besides casting rumors being rebuffed (or actors reminding director Christopher Nolan that he has their phone number), fans around the world continue to wait with baited breath for the “big” announcement — that being whether or not Nolan will return to the franchise as writer/director.

And today we get news that he may be one step closer to making his decision. According to a post over at IESB.com, “an extremely reliable source” informs them that the project is already in the process of being written by Nolan, Jonathan Nolan and David Goyer.

While there’s still no official word from Nolan, Warner Bros. execs or anyone from the production yet, there may be some truth to this since, when last we heard from someone attached to “The Dark Knight — namely, producer Chuck Roven — we were told that the aforementioned writers had begun “talking” about “Batman 3.”

Likewise, the folks over at IESB tried their luck with Roven concerning the topic at hand, only to basically be met with a “no comment” from the producer, who said, “The creative driver of the project at this point is Chris. There’s really nothing more for me to say about that. When he feels that he’s got something to talk about, then we’ll be able to talk about it.”

As usual, we advise you to keep it locked to Splash Page for the latest news on “Batman 3.”
