Last month, we received our first look at screenshots from the upcoming "Watchmen: The End is Nigh" video game, but during the Spike Video Game Awards this weekend, the first trailer for the highly anticipated game made its debut.
Here's what premiered during the show, but head over to GameTrailers for a high-definition version of the video:
After the jump, I've posted some initial thoughts about the game based on the new trailer.
So, my initial response to the new "Watchmen" game trailer? It looks as if the game's developers were conscious of some of the fundamental differences between Nite Owl and Rorschach, which is encouraging -- especially as far as the different methods of combat used by each character. In the trailer, Rorschach makes use of crowbars, tire irons and just about anything else he can find to bludgeon his opponent, while Nite Owl comes across as being decidedly more technical in his attacks. It's nice to see that they did more than just using different skins on the same character.
As far as questions go, we don't get much of a story tease in this trailer, so it's hard to say how this game will connect with the plot of the film (if at all). Furthermore, we only see Nite Owl and Rorschach in action during the trailer, so I can't help wondering whether any other "Watchmen" characters will be playable in the game.
What do you think about the new trailer? Looking forward to "Watchmen: The End is Nigh"? Let us know in the comment section!
